1. Terms and conditions

1.1 Introduction

These terms govern your use of the programmes, courses, digital products and free resources offered by Synergyn Africa (PTY) LTD trading as This Relationship Thing ("we", "us", "our"), including the Marriage Readiness Check, the 50 Questions kit and Marriage Maker. By using or buying any of them, you agree to these terms.

1.2 Use of our services

You must be at least 18 years old to buy or access our programmes. You agree not to misuse, copy, resell or distribute any of our content without written permission.

1.3 Intellectual property

All course materials, videos, frameworks, worksheets and digital content remain the intellectual property of Synergyn Africa (PTY) LTD. You receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use the content for yourself and your partner only.

1.4 Payments

All payments are processed securely through Paystack. By completing a purchase, you authorise Paystack to charge your selected payment method. Prices are shown in South African rand.

1.5 Refunds and cancellations

Our paid programmes carry a 30-day money-back guarantee. See the refund and cancellation policy below.

1.6 Educational purpose

Our programmes provide education, reflection and practical tools. They are not therapy and do not create a psychologist and client relationship. We do not guarantee specific outcomes.

1.7 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Synergyn Africa (PTY) LTD is not liable for loss of income, indirect or consequential damages, or decisions made based on our content. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the programme.

1.8 Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of our services means you accept the updated terms.

2. Privacy policy

2.1 Introduction

This policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

2.2 Information we collect

Your first name and email address when you ask for the 50 Questions kit or join the Marriage Maker waitlist.
Billing details when you buy a programme. Card details are handled by Paystack. We never see or store them.
Course access activity, such as which lessons you have opened.
Technical data such as IP address, device and browser information, and cookies.

2.3 Your Readiness Check answers

Your answers to the Marriage Readiness Check are scored in your own browser to show your result. We do not store your individual answers. We keep only your overall result group (for example "building"), so the emails we send you point to the right part of the kit.

2.4 How we use your information

To send you the free resources you asked for, and short educational emails.
To let you know when Marriage Maker opens.
To process payments and give you course access.
To answer your questions and improve our services.
To meet our legal obligations.

2.5 Sharing your information

We never sell your information. We share it only with the services that run our business: Systeme.io (website, email and course hosting), Paystack (payments), and legal authorities where the law requires it.

2.6 Data security

We use secure, encrypted systems to protect your information.

2.7 Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, withdraw your consent, or stop marketing emails at any time. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or contact us at info@thisrelationshipthing.com.

3. Cookie policy

Cookies are small files stored on your device to improve your browsing experience. We use them to keep the website working well, understand how it is used, and remember course logins. The Readiness Check also stores your result group in your browser for up to 24 hours so we can show the right result page. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work without them.

4. Website terms of use

You may use this website for personal, lawful purposes only. You may not copy or distribute its content, or attempt to hack or disrupt it. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

5. Disclaimer

5.1 Educational, not therapy

This Relationship Thing is educational and reflective. Although Andrew and Melissa are clinical psychologists, our content, courses and tools are not therapy, diagnosis or treatment, and they do not create a psychologist and client relationship. They do not replace professional psychological, medical, legal or financial advice.

5.2 If you need help

5.3 No guaranteed results

We do not guarantee specific outcomes. What you get from our programmes depends on how you use them and on your own circumstances.

5.4 Personal responsibility

By using our services, you accept that you are responsible for your own decisions and actions.

6. Refund and cancellation policy

6.1 30-day money-back guarantee

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may ask for a full refund within 30 days of the original purchase date.

6.2 Eligibility

To qualify, you must have accessed and engaged with the course material, and given us the chance to address your concerns or help you apply it.

6.3 How refunds are processed

Refunds are processed by Synergyn Africa (PTY) LTD through Paystack. Refunds are issued in full to the original payment method. Processing times depend on your bank and Paystack.

6.4 Cancellations

You may cancel within the 30-day guarantee window. After 30 days, no cancellations or refunds are granted.

6.5 Disputes and chargebacks

If you raise a dispute, Paystack notifies us, we provide supporting evidence, and your bank makes the final decision.
